Episode Overview: (Release Date: April 9, 2023) In this first episode of The People’s Archive, we have been inspired by genderqueer activist Alok Vaid-Menon to go “beyond the gender binary” with our guests who have some involvement within the drag community in South Korea. Nix (any pronouns | IG: @nix.cnr | Nix is currently on a hiatus from drag and has archived their drag posts), SKIM (he/him they/them | IG: @skimisking), and Azangman (any pronouns | IG: @dragkingazangman) express their thoughts and share their stories with the University of Utah Asia Campus students via Zoom. With our panel, we take a deep dive into gender identity and drag as gender play while discussing how shutdowns caused by the pandemic impacted their access to public drag performances as part of their gender expression.
